1. In Pimpri-Chinchwad, it appears the BJP has made up ground and clawed its way into the lead, overtaking the NCP.
2. 39 seats have been accounted for thus far. The current tally stands as follows –
   
   

   NCP -20 seats,,
   BJP – 13 seats,
   Shiv Sena-4,
   Others – 2
3. NCP leads in 15 seats, BJP in 13 seats and Shiv Sena in 4
4. In the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation. The party is leading 11 seats. The BJP is maintaining its second position in 8 seats. The Shiv Sena is however, leading only in 4 seats.
5. Alliance of NCP and INC for 100 seats in Pune city and friendly fight for 62.
6. There would also be alliance for the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) election.
7. The decision on the combine was taken in Mumbai by Pawar and Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee president Ashok Chavan.
8. After the break-up of the alliance in Pimpri Chinchwad between the BJP and Shiv Sena, they are putting allegations on each other.

 PCMC Reservation and Blocks Wards Declared.

7th Oct: Pimpri-Chinchwad municipal elections are to be held in February 2017. Total reservation for the 32 Blocks has been declared. Each ward has two seats and 50 per cent reservation is for women in local bodies. Pimpri-Chinchwad 20 seats for Scheduled Castes population,3 for Scheduled Tribes and 35 seats for OBC and general will be 70 seats.

Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation or PCMC is a Municipal Corporation of Pimpri-Chinchwad, in Pune Metro City. It is an Urban Agglomeration (UA) of Pune. Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation is situated on the old Mumbai–Pune Highway in the heart of Pimpri-Chinchwad which is one and a half hours from Navi Mumbai. Pimpri Chinchwad Council was formed on 4 March 1970 covering area of about 87 km2 which later on was established as Municipal Corporation in 1982, which now covers an area of about 181 square kilometers. As per 2011 census population of Pimpri Chinchwad is 17,29,000 souls growing at a rate of 6% annually, with a national average of 2.1%.
