Delhi BJP urges Centre to launch night taxi service for women
New Delhi: Delhi BJP on Wednesday urged the Centre to start night taxi service in the national capital by utilising Nirbhaya Fund. The party's move comes after the rape of woman executive by a driver of Uber.
"We have urged the Central Government that the Delhi Government should start night taxi service (from 9 pm to 6 am) for women through women helpline by utilising Nirbhaya fund established this year," Delhi BJP chief Satish Upadhyay said in a statement.
