Today's Chanakya Haryana Exit poll: BJP sweeps Haryana, emerge as largest party
New Delhi: BJP is all set to form the government in Haryana for the first time, as per the results of the News24-Today’s Chanakya exit polls. The BJP is expected to get 52 seats (plus or minus 7 seats), the INLD 23 seats (plus or minus 7 seats) and the Congress is relegated to the third slot with just 10 seats (plus or minus 5 seats). Others will get 5 seats (plus or minus 3). The Congress had won 40 of the total 90 seats in the last elections.
The exit polls predict that the BJP’s vote share will multiply more than threefold from 9 per cent in 2009 to 32 per cent (plus or minus 3 per cent) in these elections. As per the exit poll, the Congress vote share will go down to 23 per cent (plus or minus three per cent) in these elections as compared to 35 per cent in the last elections.
While INLD’s vote share is predicted to remain more or less unchanged (26 per cent in these elections - plus or minus three per cent), its seats are predicted to go down from 32 in 2009 to 23 (plus or minus 7) in these elections. Others, chiefly Haryana Janhit Congress of Kuldip Bishnoi and other smaller parties, are predicted to get 19 per cent votes as compared to 29.3 per cent in the last elections.
